Oloroso with average of 20 years ageing, made with grapes from the Blanco brothers' three vineyards. Selected as El Mundo's Wine of the Year 2015 in the fortified, dessert and sparkling category.
Despite it's high alcohol strength (21%), it is smooth and elegant with none of the astringency we can sometime get in gutsy old sherries. It has a lovely savouriness and minerality like all the other Callejuela wines, and lots of toasty nuts and even a hint of marmite on toast on the finish.
Like all the other Callejuela wines, this is made by hand from grape-picking to bottling, by the Blanco brothers, and the love and vision they put into their wines simply shines through.
